The Meteo-HySEA is the numerical code of the HySEA family specifically designed to simulate meteotsunamis, i.e., long-wave ocean phenomena generated by atmospheric pressure disturbances and wind effects. Meteo-HySEA implements the 2D Shallow Water Equations system on spherical coordinates, targeting accurate global simulations. Additionally, it incorporates non-constant atmospheric pressure terms and non-constant Coriolis force, as it plays a major role when simulating long-lasting geophysical flows.
Periodic boundary conditions are also implemented to account for global tsunami propagation.
